SevenSix Agency Partners with Alex Monroe Jewellery on Training & Support Programme for Black Jewellers

Over the last few months we have been working with British jewellery brand, Alex Monroe Jewellery, on a project that has been so close to our hearts. In August 2020 16 jewellers, known as Black Jewellers Collective , were awarded grants by the KLG Fund in August 2020 and in 2022 these jewellers joined onto a 6-week training and support programme coordinated and executed by SevenSix Agency alongside expert facilitators Fashion Editor Krissy Turner and PR Specialist Iman Leila.

The aim of the programme is to progress the careers and brands of the jewellers with publicity and marketing training, support and representation. The programme offered 4 virtual training sessions covering Brand, PR, Social Media and Influencer Marketing, and an in-person Press Preview on 15th March 2022 to showcase the jewellers work to the media.

As part of their inclusivity pledge, Alex says that “There is a problem of visibility for many Black jewellers in our industry. Access to the press, buyers and social media and marketing support can be challenging. The specific hardships faced by Black jewellers are real, they exist and they won’t go away unless we all get involved. A fairer, more inclusive industry will benefit everyone. As a company, we will use our position and experience to keep pushing the jewellery industry to be more open and inclusive.”

The project was co-ordinated by our founder, Charlotte Williams, who said “this project played to so many of our strengths as a business: mar-comms training and workshop facilitation is my main role here at SevenSix and as a black founder of a small business I had a unique understanding of where the jewellers were at“.

We’re so proud of this project and are excited to keep the conversations and relationships going with both the jewellers and Alex Monroe Jewellery.
